Ocean Rush

Hello everyone!
I think we are all getting a bit antsy waiting for the new Color Club Halo Hues to be released or at least have a release date...
So when a sunny day rolled around I decided to enjoy one of the holos I already have in my collection.
This is Layla's Ocean Rush. Ocean Rush is a bright blue linear holo that has rainbows for days. This polish is amazing! It applied easily and looked wonderful. The only downfall is that it chips fast, within 24 hours. Yet I still think it is worth it just to get this sparkle. WARNING:  Lots of pictures!

1 coat Nfu-Oh Aqua Base
3 coats Layla Ocean Rush

31 Day Challenge Day 3: Yellow Nails

Hello to all!
This week has been so busy, my little guy started Pre-K so it has been a whole new experience for my whole family! He loves it and is having a blast.
Any who...
On to the nails.
I am not a yellow person. Out of my 400+ polishes, I own about 4 yellow ones.
So it was hard to find inspiration for yellow day, I took a new polish I received from my very first Julep Maven box :-) and a stamp I haven't used yet and mixed them together and this was the result, a fun summer mani!

1 coat OPI Nail Envy
 3 coats Julep Blake
Mash-42 stamped with Konad Psyche Pink
dotted with China Glaze Little Drummer Boy
1 coat SV

31 Day Challenge, Day 2: Orange nails

Hello my dears,
So today is day 2 of the 31 day challenge: Orange nails
I knew I didn't want to do a completely orange mani because it is so hard to make one that does not look Halloween-y.
I decided on a gradient:

1 coat OPI Nail Envy
2 coats OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls
sponged with OPI MBSW and China Glaze Riveting
Stamped with China Glaze Passion and Konad Special Black Pearl
plate Mash-41

The dragonfly was on the same plate and it was just calling to me I had to use it.

Check out what the other ladies did for their orange nails:

31 Day Challenge, Day 1: Red nails

So today is Day 1 of my first challenge!
It is a 31 Day challenge hosted by Kimber's Lacquer Korner.

Day 1 is Red Nails.
Now when I went to do this I realized that I only own 2 red nail polishes.
One is Cover Girl Candy Apple, it is a bright red red cream that I bought years ago for a 4th of July mani.
The other one is the lovely China Glaze Ruby Pumps.
So I decided to use them both
1 coat OPI Nail Envy
2 coats Cover Girl Candy Apple
Taped and 1 coat China Glaze Ruby Pumps
dotted with Nfu-Oh 61

This is the schedule for the rest of the challenge:

Hypnotize Me Blue-Ming

Hey guys!
Just a quick post today :)
I wanted to use one of my new Cult Nails polishes so here it is:

1 coat OPI Nail Envy
3 coats Color Club Blue-Ming
1 coat Cult Nails Hypnotize Me
stamp with Mash-40 Konad Special Black polish
1 coat Seche Vite

I love how trippy this looks, although it is hard to capture the green with my camera without it turning pink.... I don't know why my camera likes doing this :(

This is as true to color as I could get.
I love the sparkle!

TIOT times 4!

Happy Try It On Tuesday!
For those of you who don't know, TIOT is when you wear a nail polish that is already in your stash that you haven't used yet.

Here I am showing you OPI You Callin' Me a Lyre from their NYC Ballet Soft Shades collection and OPI Number One Nemesis from their Spiderman collection both of which came out earlier this year.

I decided to step out of my comfort zone and try something new for this post.
First of all I never wear french manicures. I like to keep my nails shorter so I think they look silly on me. Now some ladies out there can rock a french mani on super short nails and make it look amazing, but I just can't get it to work for me.
So I decided to try a sponged french mani. I took my inspiration from Marta over at ChitChat nails. She really wowed me with this manicure.
If you haven't seen her blog before head over there and prepare to be inspired!

Onto the nails. I used:

1 coat OPI Nail Envy
2 coats OPI You Callin' Me a Lyre?
sponged OPI Number One Nemesis
stamped BM-312 w/ Konad Special Black Pearl

Of course I stamped it for a little extra pop with a plate and image that I have never used before!

What do you think?

I love it! I can't wait to use these colors again but it might have to wait a little bit because of some "nail mail" that I recieved today...

Awakening

So I had a completely different mani set up for today.
Then I got some chips it before I could take pictures and when I tried to recapture the magic, it just wasn't happening.
This ended up being a good thing because I got a chance to use one of my untried polishes.
This is China Glaze Awakening (not to be confused with Awake) It is a lovely duo chrome shining a a peachy pink and gold.
I originally bought this polish to see if it could stamp (which I haven't tried yet)
I spotted it in my stash and decided to give it a go!
I love it.
It is a beautiful flattering shade and would probably look good on anyone.
I decided to use another untried in this post as well.
I've used this for nail polish jewelry but not on my nails and can not figure out why.
I used Nubar's Black Polka Dot on my thumb and pointer finger as an accent and I feel like it stole the show.

1 coat OPI Nail Envy
2 coats China Glaze Awakening
Stamped with BM-321 and Konad Special Black Pearl
1 coat Nubar Black Polka Dot as accents
I cut my finger at work, so yes I am blocking the grossness with my watermark, don't judge!

Black Polka Dot is made up of small and large black hexagonal glitters.
Just like many other glitters, I had some trouble "placing" the large pieces but the small glitters filled in the rest of the nail. This helps because it is not as noticeable when the placement is not precise.

Zoya Kimber, double stamped

Hello!
Have you ever done your nails and thought
"This looks a little weird, but I kind of like it. Maybe I don't like it. Hmm, I like it in this lighting but not in this lighting..."
On and on and on. That is what this manicure was for me. I wasn't sure if I liked it. I liked all the colors separately I'm just not sure how much I like them together.
The base on this is Zoya Kimber from the new surf collection.
She is a reddish orange, shimmery, glass fleck polish.
(No one does glass fleck like Zoya)
This is:

1 coat OPI Nail Envy
2 coats Zoya Kimber
Plate Mash-48 stamped in Funky Fingers Down to Earth and  Konad Black Pearl
1 coat Poshe Topcoat

My husband said that from far away it looks like a ladybug.
See right now I am liking it in these pictures now that I'm not wearing it anymore, but I'm not sure if I'll like it 5 minutes from now.
I'm just indecisive.
What do you think.

Lunar Eclipse, A Cut Above

Hello ladies!
I was messing around with different layering possibilities last night
and I stumbled upon a gorgeous one!
I love Orly polishes, I know I haven't posted many, but they are so pretty!
This is Lunar Eclipse. It is a beautiful blue purple, glittery, duo chrome.

1 coat OPI Nail Envy
3 thin coats Orly Lunar Eclipse
1 coat Essie A Cut Above
1 coat SV

A close up of the glitter!

I love this combo!
The bottle shot, look at that purple shine!

Caitlin, Carly and a Silver Mercedes

I am having so much fun stamping lately.
I have recently bought the new Mash stamping plates and they are amazing!
Another one is featured here today...

I started with:
1 coat OPI Nail Envy base coat
2 coats of Zoya Caitlin
Stamped Mash-43 with:
Zoya Carly & Pure Ice Silver Mercedes
topped it all off with 1 coat of SV

I love how sparkly Carly is, even when it is just stamped you can still see the glittery goodness!
